List Price: Baked goods get geeky with Darth Vader cake pan and moreFirst stop, of course, is eBay. You can find just about anything on eBay. Plug in “Star Wars” and “Wilton,” and you get lots of cool stuff . In addition to the Darth Vader pan, they did R2-D2 and Boba Fett pans (no Jabba?), plus accessories such as plastic figures and candles. Cakepansforsale.com also had a C-3PO pan! The R2-D2 pan is tempting, though I’d use an actual photo as a model to get the colors right. You’d think they’d have been more careful about that. In the past, I’ve bought an old Superman/Batman pan on eBay (it came with plastic heads and symbols so you can make either one, but I think I’ll just draw the designs). There are actually a few designs available for those characters. Also currently available on eBay are Wonder Woman, Super Mario, Power Ranger, Optimus Prime, Powerpuff Girls and He-Man, plus a generic space ship and dozens of comic and cartoon characters. Currently on the Wilton site, you can buy a Spider-Man pan and accessories, plus various Batman, Iron Man and Transformers accessories (candles, plastic figures, candies, cupcake cups, etc.). May the Fourth Be With You — and Cake TooToday is May 4, the unofficial holiday that Star Wars fans have proclaimed Star Wars Day. If you encounter anyone wearing fanboy paraphernalia this Friday, make sure to greet them properly by saying, "May the fourth be with you." It will give you instant geek cred.
We made a Star Trek cake for Captain Picard's birthday, so of course we had to make a sweet treat for May 4 too.
To replicate this fabulous and fairly easy Star Wars cake, take a look at my decorating tips. Colors and cake: For your color palette, go with red for Darth Vader's lightsaber, blue for Luke Skywalker's lightsaber, or green for Yoda. To replicate this ruby-red cake, bake a homemade or box-mix red velvet cake. Frosting choice: Whip up a white buttercream or cream cheese frosting to use as your baseStar Wars Cake Kit Buzz![]()
I'll bet Rex Ryan is actually far from blowing up at players right now; he's probably sitting back with a few cold ones, maybe giving the missus a foot rub, eating some cake, cookies, ice cream, all of them; whatever. Really just enjoying life.
